Hey everyone!
I thought this would be a good chance to give an update and get some things off my chest.
Exciting times for both Love 21 Foundation and ImpactHK to say the least!!
Love 21 Foundation is flying!! We’ve just added a ton of new classes: trampoline, dance, fitness, surfing, and tennis!
The response from our existing members has been so wonderful!! They’re energy and enthusiasm to learn new sports and participate has been so encouraging!!
Also with these new classes, we now have more space to invite new members to join Love 21.
In the past two weeks we’ve added five new members and I’m expecting 15 more new members in June!
ImpactHK continues to make steps in the right direction.
We are continuing our Kindness Walks and strengthening some of our friendships with the homeless.
At the same time, behind the scenes we are making some progress with our Board of Directors and future planning.
Our first intern from City University will be starting next week.
Her main focus will be on expanding our free laundry programme.
I still believe this is a very important service that we can easily provide.
ImpactHK is still driving towards starting a job creation initiative focussed on proving a job and multiple connections as well.
Both charities have just recently been given section 88 charity status. Once we finally get our final paperwork and get a bank set up, we’ll need to start attacking some bigger funding so we can get our nutrition programme started for Love 21 and our job creation/housing initiative for ImpactHK.
It’s unbelievably exciting!!
I think I have a tough time understanding just how big this movement has gotten because I’m so focussed on getting these two charities to the next steps.
I love the vision and I believe so strongly that our plans will work.
At the same time I’m feeling a ton of pressure.
Every time I visit my homeless friend Candy in Sai Wan Ho, I have to tell him that, ‘I’m still trying’. I see a bright path for Candy, and I just want to help him now! But I can’t and that’s really tough for me to swallow.
Same with Love 21. I’ve got these amazing families that have supported me by joining me on this adventure for the past nine years! I need to make this work for them! And for the entire special needs community in Hong Kong.
I’d be lying if I were to say I’m handling this pressure well.
It’s extremely difficult for me to live in the moment right now. I do find times where I can do it for sure. But this pressure and extreme workload I’ve put on myself is taking a toll. But as hard as this is, I will not stop grinding and busting my butt until this dream comes to fruition.
And now is not a time to slow down! Both charities have such great momentum right now! It seems like every day there’s a big development or new step taken!
I need to thank all of you for your continued support! I know I’m probably taking up a ton of your Facebook newsfeeds…. 😜
Thanks for liking and sharing! That makes a big difference! Thanks for attending our fundraising event and charity events.
Id especially like to thank Geet and Naomi and all our Love 21 volunteers!!
I hit my personal max a long time ago. Without your constant and dedicated support there’s no way we’d be where we are today! ❤️🙏🏼
I appreciate you guys so much!!
Cheers everyone and hope to see you soon!!
Jeff
keep up the great work! It’s great that you have such an impact on others
Thank you so much!! 🙏🏼👍🏼
No problemo!
What you are doing is simply amazing. These two programs are making such a difference in people’s lives and it’s all because of you and your great group of volunteers. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Brielle!! 🙏🏼❤️
Thanks for your blog post. Some tips i would like to add is that laptop memory has to be purchased in case your computer still cannot cope with what you do by using it. One can set up two RAM memory boards of 1GB each, for instance, but not one of 1GB and one having 2GB. One should make sure the manufacturer’s documentation for one’s PC to ensure what type of memory space is essential.
