impactHK: The Next Step!
Hey everyone,
Last night was such a big handout! And with the temperature being so cold and wet, our timing couldn’t have been better.
It was also a great night to have RTHK there reporting on the work we are doing. Hopefully that will bring more exposure to the homeless problem in Hong Kong and also acts of kindness.
As much as I love seeing such a huge group of caring individuals out lending some relief for the needy, I think it’s clear that it didn’t need to be that big. 🙂
So, I think now is the time to adapt our plan.
My proposal is that we have co-organizers that run handout events in multiple locations around Hong Kong.
We have only been helping this one group in Sham Shui Po, mainly because of the sheer size of this group. However, there are multiple groups all over Hong Kong that could use some kindness and support as well.
So, if you’re interested in running a handout in an area of your choosing, date and time, I will post it on the blog and FB page to help you get volunteers. Depending on the variables, you can either pre-buy the food like I do in Sham Shui Po, or you can develop a new system that suits you and the location.
So, with the support of other event organizers, we can have multiple handouts per month.

Also, if you know of any areas with groups of homeless in Hong Kong, please let us know.
Thanks as always for you support! I truly believe that what we are doing is positive and is helping the less fortunate. This is far from the end goal, but it is another step towards it.

What an amazing turnout. This has really grown so much, congratulations on that. I think it is phenomenal that now there will be a chance to help out with multiple areas. Truly amazing.

I am interested as well. i live in Tin Shui Wai so NT West would be a great location. Not sure about the homeless situation here, however. Alternatively, I would like to help others in other locations if no events are planned for NT West.
