myHK: The Guest Room is OUT OF CONTROL!!!
How’s it going everyone?
I hope you’re all having a good week. For me it’s been a bit tough getting back in work mode after the Chinese New Year break and I’m counting down the days until Easter!
For those of you who have been following The Guest Room blogs for a while now, you’ve sure seen a lot of changes! We started off with a ton of blogs including music, parenting pop culture and more. Slowly some writers moved on, some blogs ended and some new ones were added.
Now we are still lucky to have Sean’s photoblog, streetSNAP and I’m still writing myHK and impactHK, although not as often as I wish I could. New China Hand talks of coming back… But he’s a bit swamped these days…
The blog has taken a major turn towards charity and humanitarian efforts. We’ve done 9 handouts to the homeless and will have one every month from now on. We’ve raised over $24,000 for people living in caged homes,and just recently helped pay a family for their daughter’s cleft lip operation.
We’ve set up an opportunity for people to come together, have some fun and accomplish awesome things!
I’ve also made some great friends. Friends that are passionate about giving and helping those in need. People who understand the importance of lending a hand and being grateful for all that we have.
Who knows where the future will take this blog! But I do know that we’ll continue trying to be creative and mindful of how we can make positive impact on ourselves and those around us.
