impactHK: Event 2 Announcement!
Happy Saturday everyone,
Although the weather is a bit gloomy these days, hopefully I can lift your spirits with the announcement of impactHK Event #2!
On the previous blog, “
Event 2 Ideas“, Philip suggested 1 more event to help the homeless.
“Before moving on from the Nam Cheong area, and continuing on from handing out 100 meals to the needy: There are many everyday accessories and toiletries we take for granted – toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deodorant.”
I think this is a great cause and I’m sure we can provide these people with some really nice products to brighten their evening.
So, let’s do it!
ImpactHK Event 2
Tuesday, May 13th
Nam Cheong Station, Exit A
8:00pm
I have a good friend who is in the T-shirt business, and he has very generously offered to provide us with a lot of new T-Shirts.
I also think socks would be a much needed gift. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other ideas would be great as well.
Let’s make use of the comment’s section below! Please let us know if you can attend event 2 and also make a suggestion of what we should donate.
Hope you all have great weekend! Feel free to spread the word and let’s make some impact!
Cheers!
Mr.J

I will try to make it. Living Plaza stores are famous for carrying “everything HKD12”, there are multiple locations and their selection is very broad, however don’t remember if they have toiletries. See the link for locations: http://www.jusco.com.hk/eng/10_plaza/index_shop.htm
Hey Maja!
Thanks for your suggestion!! I’ll check it out!!
Looking forward to seeing you at event2!!

You can donate canned food! Or get carters & restaurants to participate and give these poor people some food vouchers 🙂
Though my estranged mom always tells me that money will solve everything..!
Have you considered asking food stores if they will give you stuff whch is going out of date and even people like Mannings and Watsons for end of line stuff?
Hey Howard,
Thanks for commenting!
Good suggestion
True, those companies, and restaurants could all be contacted to do these types of donations everyday.
However, we’re going for something a little different so far with our monthly events. For example, today’s event looks like it will involve around 20 people and we’ll each spend $100 of our money to put together great packages for 50 homeless people. We don’t need to go asking companies to help. Anyone at any point can go out and do acts like this any day they want. The homeless people are there every night.
If Watsons and such aren’t already donating to the poor, that’s unfortunate. I don’t know if they do or not.
Sorry for the long winded reply. I just feel proud of the fact that this is just a group of peolple doing good acts and making some positive impact. Everything can be bigger and better. Let’s see where this goes.
Cheers!
