We are only a few days away from our first humanitarian project on the 3rd of April.
I’m really excited about this event and the start of impactHK!
We will meet at the Nam Cheong MTR station, exit A, at 8:00pm. I will be there beforehand arranging the food and drinks. I will purchase enough for 100 people, and we will simply divide the cost amongst the volunteers that night.
Then, we’ll go and hand it out to the very large group of homeless people in that area. Personally, I have never done anything like this before. So, I’m not sure what to expect, but I’m really looking forward to doing something that I know will make a lot of people happier, and healthier.
After this first event I will write a blog about it which will be published on the 5th of April. In that blog I will discuss the night and how it went. Hopefully we can get a picture of the volunteers in it as well.
In the comments section of that blog, I’d like you to start suggesting ideas for our next events. Ideas that you feel can make a great impact on a group of individuals or maybe even a single person. I want us to think creatively and really take advantage of this opportunity to do something cool.
So right now, I have around 10 confirmations. I’m hoping for more! If you would like to get involved, let us know in the comments below, or in the comments on our Facebook page.
Liking and sharing our Facebook post will also help get us more exposure and volunteers!
Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday!
Cheers,
Feeding HK are always looking for large numbers to help with their bread runs.
Hi Caroline,
That’s great! I just checked out their site. Looks like a good charity.
However, i think what we’re going for with impactHK, is quite different than simply volunteering for a registered charity.
Perhaps we may as a group decide to help them out for an event, but I think the beauty of this concept is that as a group, we can come up with a goal that we want to accomplish, and just go do it.
We don’t have to be a registered charity with facilities and salaries to pay for. We are a group of individuals who just want to spread some happiness in HK.
Next month we may decide on running a reading hour at an orphanage or have a clothing drive. Where we take this is all depending on our numbers and how far we want to go. It’s more organic , so to speak 🙂
I hope this attracts people who are passionate and ambitious. I already know that everyone who comes will be a kind person, so that’s a huge win.
Perhaps a beer afterwards is in order!
Hope to see you there!

Hi Mr J
I really admire your passion and enthusiasm. I actually run a charity which connects volunteers and community causes. I would be happy to share some insights with you on how you can maximise your impact. I think you have my email and then I’ll send my phone number (don’t want to post here.)
Good luck with your April 3 event.
Caroline
