impactHK:Let’s Make Some Impact!
I’m very excited to announce the beginning of a new element to The Guest Room! impactHK !
We have seen some very nice numbers recently on our stats page, and with this greater exposure, we have a wonderful opportunity to make some BIG impact in Hong Kong.
I am heavily involved in charity work for the Hong Kong Down Syndrome Association, as you may have seen in some of my blogs. But, I want more! I want to make a bigger impact. And I hope you’ll join me.
Here’s my idea.
Through The Guest Room, we’ll form a group of individuals interested in doing great acts around Hong Kong. The more the merrier.
Simply put, collectively, we are going to think of a great deed that we can do to help people, and then go get it done!
We will do 1 kind act every month. I have selected the first action which will happen on April 3rd in Sham Shui Po, where there is a very large group of homeless people sleeping every night. Whoever is interested, can join me in providing dinner, a drink and a piece of fruit to 100 people there.
This is not my charity. This will be all of our’s. Whether it be 5 or 200 of us.
You will have the opportunity to suggest YOUR IDEAS for next month’s act of kindness in the comments section of the next impactHK blog. We will then take all of the suggestions given, and I’ll put a POLL on the site. We will vote on the next event and the top vote getter becomes our next act.
So, this will only become as big as we want to make it. Like I said, this could be a small effort or it could involve hundreds of us. But, one thing’s for sure, it will make a positive impact.

8:00pm
Goal-Hand out 100 food boxes, fruit and drinks to the homeless
Estimated cost is $30 per donation. $3000 total.
The cost will be divided by the number of volunteers present that evening.
