Summer Flutes

It seems that right now in many parts of the globe the weather is what, I think, meteorologists and scientists describe as “batshit crazy”.

In response to the country’s Biblically-proportioned floods, perplexed Daily Mail readers throughout England scratch their heads. Meanwhile Stateside, as Arctic conditions grip much of the US, members of the Tea Party movement sigh, “there must be a reason for it.”

Yeah. It’s called CLIMATE CHANGE!!!

All this extremely unpleasant weather does, however, give me a chance to shamelessly plug my Mixcloud page. The ability of the weather to affect one’s mood is great, but greater still is the power of music.

A couple of years back, I recorded a 40-minute mix designed for playing on a balmy summer’s afternoon. I delved deep into my crates and dusted off some tunes with varying degrees of “summery-ness” to them, and the result was Summer Flutes (see what I did there?).

So, I’ll shut up this week and let the music do the talking. I hope you’ll take a listen, and if you’re anywhere in the world where the elements are getting you down, I hope this brings a bit of sunshine…because as we all know, Roy Ayers was right; “Everybody Loves the Sunshine”.
