Fishing (3)
What would you expect to catch when fishing in HK? Polystyrene boxes? Plastic Bags? Boots(I’ve seen it happen), or in this weather, a cold? Believe it or not, Hong Kong has fish, real fish that can be eaten, albeit a by small! Here are a couple pics of people fishing around Hong Kong.

So now you know what fishing looks like in Hong Kong. Obviously you want to know what the fish look like too…Well, here ya go! Delicious looking, aren’t they?

Next week I ‘tackle’ some of Hong Kong’s most obnoxious smokers!

For someone like me who lives in Lei Yue Mun,fishing is not a strange thing to me.But i can’t figure out whether it’s for their daily consumption or plainly for pleasure coz I can still see several walking down the street carrying their fishing gears despite the dropped temperature. I could still remember a funny scenario about fishing in Shing Mun Reservoir, I was on my may to Wilsun Trail when these 2 guys fishing caught my attention. I stopped for a few seconds to find out why they’re yelling(as if I can understand Cantonese;)) . I could see their exaggeration, they’re expecting a perfect catch! maybe bec of the weight they felt through the rod.One of the guys lifted up the fishing rod with all his might, and guess what they caught! a turtle! one of the guys laughed at the top of his lungs and so did I.
    good morning!

Thanks for the comment Che. The ‘real’ fisherman and woman on Lamma Island probably do it for consumption but there are a lot of people who just do it for fun. My favourite fishing experience was at a fishing dam in Tai Po, a big group of us went there for a bachelor party and drank beers and caught fish. To be honest, i only caught fish that were top feeders using bread but it was still good fun!
